Sorry to this little blog here, you have been so neglected the last month. What have I been up too? Oh ya know... cuddling this little guy all day and night.

My sweet Weston is now one month old, time is going by so quickly! I love everything about this little guy he is perfect as can be.

Happy 2012 to all of my wonderful clients and friends. I cant wait to see your smiling faces and cant wait to find out what this year will bring for all of us and Lulabell Photography. I hope to see you soon :)

This session was bitter sweet. I love their cute family so much and had a blast with my last session of 2011. I cant believe my first year of Lulabell is coming to a close already, I have been blessed by all of you so much. Thank you for letting me into you lives with my camera and for taking a chance on me and my business. Because of you I have a job that I am completely in love with. Thank you! I am looking forward for another great year to come.

Repeat clients are always awesome, remember when baby Rush was just an itty bitty newborn? He is now almost 6 months old and still totally perfect. Along with big bro Max, this shoot was a dream.

I completely love shooting at this location, there are so many beautiful spots. The weather was perfect for so late in November, I couldnt ask for more. Thank you Alicia, you guys were amazing this whole shoot! I cant believe your babies were even sick. Like I said when we were out together, best behaved children ever. They put mine to shame! Enjoy :)

I was so happy when fellow photographer and one of my best mommy friends, Angie, asked me to talk their family pictures. She has taken ours the last 2 years and will be photographing the 4 of us this December. She just had her second little boy and she gives me hope that a woman CAN survive in a house with that much testosterone.

Its about that time of year when everyone starts thinking about Christmas cards(Christmas is less than 100 days away!) and that is wonderful for me. However fall is rearing its ugly head in the form of rain in the PNW. I should be out photographing the beautiful Hardy family but we've had to reschedule because of the weather.

SO here is a big fat reminder to schedule those family sessions early! Take advantage of the Back To School special and get a mini session (30 min) for $45 and receive the disk of 10-15 images for free. Must be booked before September 30th. Session may take place later but it needs to be on the calendar before then!

I have known this mama for a whole decade and what a decade its been! High school, cheerleading, church activities and adventures, boys, college, and now marriage and mommyhood for the both of us. Its pretty awesome that our husbands know each other as well. We are so lucky to be their friends let me tell you!

I have known this young lady for a few years and am so excited for her senior year. She is going places! This was possibly my favorite shoot so far, so easy going and fun. She was so relaxed in front of the camera and needed little direction on posing- a dream come true. Thanks, Hayden for letting me take your pictures :) It was hard to just pick a few when almost all of them were perfect.

I met itty bitty Rushton when he was 10 days old! He comes from a pretty awesome and adorable family so I was thrilled to photograph him. He was an angel the whole time too! Congrats Matt and Kelsey on another beautiful baby boy.

When I photographed the H. family a few months ago I was already anxious for the arrival of their sweet baby. Then the day came and I was anxiously waiting again, to find out if sweet baby #3 was a boy or a girl. Well, Miss B is a wonderful addition to this already gorgeous family. We did this in 2 takes, at 10 days old and again at 2 weeks!

I was asked by the lovely Kali of Kali Lu Photo to help photograph and assist her at the wedding of Miriam and Ryan. They were such a great couple, easy to work with, and so madly in love they were glowing. Miriam's vintage style was to die for. It was my first wedding I was so nervous but got a few shots I was quite proud of.

I started this blog almost 6 months ago and never told a soul. You can tell how great that worked out, I hardly have anything up here. I want to take great pictures and love everything about photography. If I am going to get better I need to know people are watching. Sometimes we do our best work in front of an audience. They push us to push ourselves and hopefully reach greatness. So here I am. Lulabell was a nick name in high school and it stuck. I will be posting mostly still life work and pictures of my family. I will be grateful for anyone who wants to strike a pose for me to practice.

Be prepared to come to your photo session and HAVE FUN. I want you to laugh and play and not always look at the camera. I want your family to interact like they would during game night at the table. I want to see you having fun and loving being together. I will direct you with poses and how to sit or stand but once you are there feel free to change it up, look at each other, look at me, look behind me or above me! Tickle your kids, kiss your loved one, hold hands, or wrap your arms around someone. I want you to look back at these photos and say to yourself " yeah, that's us in a nutshell" And sometimes candids turn out the best.

"Oh no, I just booked a photography session and I dont know what to wear!"

It is a common stress anytime you know you'll be in front of the camera, even for me when we have our family pictures done. Here are some things to keep in mind.

Simple can be boring! Mix it up, go with a new color palate and dont be afraid to be bold. Remember layers are your friend so pile them on. Tank tops under cardigans, jackets, scarfs, hats, jewelry. A nice hair bow or head band is great too. On the guys vests, ties, half zip jackets, or hats. Try mixing materials. Denim and cordory, lace, silk, cotton, ruffles. Patterns too! All of those things photograph beautifully and bring depth to your images. Remember you can always pair down if we get together and it seems too much.
